Hey guys, starting the preseason fairly well 2-0 hopefully we can continue that. Got crapped on in baseball, so i'm going to sit out on baseball, but I do have 3 preseason games that I do like tonight.
For 2 units,
I'm taking the Browns over the Packers.
On paper the packers look diesel for regular season and rodgers is rodgers. But I don't expect him to play more then a quarter. In QB depth chart, we saw matt flynn play very little amount and he wasn't all that outstanding and I don't expect that to continue. I would much take Seneca Wallace then Matt Flynn. I expect much of the packers to sit most of their guys out. Remember packers team is pretty much intact from their superbowl win, so they pretty much have their starting spots on paper. It's all about like 3rd string for packers team, so expect third stringers to play to have a spot on the roster. Browns have much more gaps to fill, so they will play with little more talented players to fill gaps for that team. I see browns having the edge here tonight and laying less the a FG is ok by me here.
For 3 units,
I'm taking the OVER on the giants/panthers game.
As much as you have good value on getting points with the giants, Panthers traditionally play fairly well against the giants. The over to me seems like a very good value to play sitting at 33 points. The giants are stacked on the QB spot especially with Sage Rosenfel, and David Carr both having experience playing the game. Panthers are backed with Derek Anderson. Granted he's not the best, but he's good enough to throw against 3rd stringers, and if worst come sto worst, he'll throw ints and set up giants for some points. The RB position is good on both teams so a total sitting at 33 seems to be fairly low and I feel this is going over.
For 2 units,
I'm taking the Titans laying a FG against the vikings.
Titans have fairly good second stringers and I think Jake Locker will do ok. Vikings are well.. shit on second string and third so I'll gladly take the titans at -3 as I feel its got a lot of value.
