Verizon offers a program to rent a phone for 20$ for 30 days if you travel. Make sure you get one that's unlockable (sim card required). I got a blackberry storm from them the other day. Way cheaper to get a prepaid sim in CR. here's all the info:

I have an unlocked phone that I plan on bringing. I've checked with ICE and I can get a sim card at the airport.

Yup, this is the best way vs paying $2.00 a minute on up if you just roam.

Remember guys it has to be a world phone that takes a sim and is unlocked/unlockable (iPhone on Verizon in NOT a world phone)

My Iphone is unlocked and I will be getting the SIM at the airport. I did check and will work.

I can text my wife and just tell her the phone service sux and I cant get a signal.
