    Moneygram Now Being "Bushwhacked?"
I cashed out of Skybook for a small amount, after the end of the NBA championship series.

Their basic (and maybe sole method of withdrawal) is the same as the base deposit method -- MoneyGram.

So I got the info on the phone re the sender and his country (for just about all the Caribbean books it's Managua Nicaragua) and hustled down to the local Walmart.

When I got there the clerk called ** and they wanted - get this - the date of birth and country of birth of the sender.

I hadn't taken my cell phone so went back home to call Sky. They told me they'd have that info the next day. They did, but only after a couple calls, and in the afternoon. (I told the first clerk, "This is getting impossible." And he replied: "Yes, it is.")

I'd always assumed that the name of the "sender" was an alias, understood by the book and ** in Nicaragua. A code name, to show tht such and such book was the sender.

Maybe so, maybe not. Skybook finally gave me a date of birth and country of birth (Nicaragua, of course). And I was able to cash out at Walmart.

I have to wonder if this is some push by the Bush freakos to win another firefight in the only war they've had even a bit of success in. Cracking down on **, andd maybe **?

Hmmm. What'll it be nexxt time - any tattoos the sender has - how many moles on his arms - does he chew tobacco? - his grandfathers occupation?

And maybe a ** rep getting on the phone with me and saying:

"Sir, before we can release this money to you, you must sign and notarize a statement that you're not a sicko gambler. And that you love Big Brother, to wit Mister George W Bush."

When I cashed out awhile back via ** for $700, they asked for DL and SSN, even though the sender was from the US.

I'd never give them my true SS number, and would be hesitant to give them or anyone my DL number.

        What a bunch of bullsh1t.

Looks like Mistah Prez finally won a big one - against America's sports bettors.

        Congrats, pinhead . . .

I believe they ask for SSN if you recieve it in cash.

I think if you ask them to cut a check, they do not need SSN.

Its a pain to make a trip to the bank to cash that check but at least you don't need to give up your SSN.

well I will say they have been asking more questions lately when I deal with **

but its still under the radar compared to **...believe that

as far as getting sent money...I have had to provide a DL# before but Im assuming that was to put into the computer so it would match the ID you provide at a ** location

as far as a SSN#?..never been asked...and if I was...I would just make one up

its not like ** has access to identity databases

The Patriot Act law now states they have to report you in a book if you send 3,000 in one day.

Sucks they got me. I have done this in the past but they never recorded my info. Two 1,500 transactions will get you in a book for the feds to see

I used moneygram today for a withdraw for $1,800 not a problem.
I used them last month to collect 1k each time within 10 days and not a problem. It was extremely easy and hassle free. The only time I experience problems with them is when I send money. It always seems to have a kink in it then its fixed. I used to use western union for everything but moneygram is cheaper for me and very easy and no hassles..

I know one sportsbook that's not highly rated that's on the improve and I'm having suspicions it's run out of my home state of Minnesota because even the fax number is from the twin cities area and payouts come from a twin cities bank. They really rig it up where you can use any credit card too. They say they are based in Costa Rica but I have my suspicions. We talk about this place here on occassion and everyone knows it.People poke fun at the place but pretty soon it will be the only place where a person from the USA can bet. When this happens, the head hancho better watch out because the gov will come down on him.I will never mention the place in question because the place has been fair to me.
