SF is on a level playing field with the phillies and any of the AL contenders could also easily be viewed as a favorite in a match-up with them as well.

They're definitely good, but I'll take my chances up against Halladay and Lee with Lester and Beckett. Would we be a dog? Yes. But we would have a good chance.

yeah the Atlanta Braves pitching staff you just mentioned couldn't carry the jock straps for this pitching staff.

I think what he is saying is that the Braves pitching staff did have the type of season that the Phillies are having. I do not think he is not saying that the Braves pitchers were not of the same caliber.
