When was the last time a team with a 49-66 record facing a team with a 55-59 record was such a big chalk fav? What am I missing here?

cubs have won 8 or 9 in arow plus Garza is on the mound . would,nt take the Cubs anyway. Nats are killing the ball latey. looks like a coin flip to me.

Nats bullpen gives them an edge if Cubs hit the ball right at a few guys in the early innings...
If you bet on the Cubs today you are still a rookie in the game...
It's ok though, you will get better...

Agree. Even if Wang sucks, the line is too high. My model says the line should be about 150 with Wang as bad as he has been in the season (ERA close to 6 in two games); but if he is just below average (as ZIPS projects him), the current line is a steal.

Garza is a good pitcher. Cubs are playing great baseball right now.

they strung some some wins together against a few teams that were crumbling. not sure that qualifies as great baseball, in fact great baseball and cubs should never be used together.

Cubs batting line-up is pretty good. Pitching not so much.

Do not ever bet the Cubs, unless they there is a gun to your head.

Love the over up to 9.5, but it's dependent on which Garza shows up.
Seems like every time I finally pull the trigger on a Garza total, he turns into Cy Young and the pen actually does their job.

Still don't know what to expect from Wang. Only has 2 starts this year and none of them on the road. So I'm passing here. But GL if you play the Cubs.

normally I'd agree. There's a ton of people this season who kept betting the Cubs, and they did it back when the Cubs sucked!
Now they string 7 in a row together, everyone in the line up is hitting, and people are saying don't bet the cubs.
People do things backwards on this forum

I kind of feel like it's that high for a reason -- to lure people into thinking the Nats are a play when they probably aren't.
With that being said, I wouldn't lay that kind of juice with the Cubs if they were playing a little league team.

The answer is simple here. CHIEN-MING WANG......on the road no less.....against a team who's won 7 out of their last 8. Baseball is a game of streaks. The 49-66 record is deceiving. Oh and did I mention CHIEN-MING WANG is pitching? Without question the worst starting pitcher in baseball. Win or lose it's a fair line in my opinion given all the circumstances
