In TX you get a full ride to any TX college of your choice for that. I gruaduated with a class just north of 3,000 students. The asian kid that won, ended being someone that the other 3000 graduates never knew existed.

Each class has ONE valedictorian...it means the person with the highest class rank/GPA, i.e. #1 in their class.
