You see it time and time again. There will be a game thread and one poster will have one side and another poster the other. They then proceed to wish each other luck. We all do it. But c'mon. You know and I know, that what you are really thinking is "I hope you lose your fvckin' money, you fvck!" Theres no nice intentions when it comes to gambling. Its a dog eat dog world and nice guys usually finish last. So from now on, if I've got an over on a game and you have an under...I will not wish you good luck, rather I will tell you, I hope they hit a slam in the top of the 1st, you coksucker. So dont take it personal.

This is obsurd. Unless one guy is the bookie and the other one is the bettor it doesn't make any sense to wish each other bad luck.

If I bet at book A and he bets at book B why wouldn't I wish him good luck? At least someone is going to be happy.

Thats my point. I have seen posters wish each other luck when they are on opposite sides. Why would you wish a guy on the opposite side of you good luck?

I think next time I'm on a final table in a hold 'em tournament and its downs to heads up play. And we've just put all our chips in the middle pre flop. I'm gonna look at the guy, I'm playing against and say "Good Luck."

It's obvious they aren't serious, they just say good luck to let you know there's no hard feelings if you win. If I'm gonna lose anyway someone else might as well win, in the end whether or not you say good luck the result is going to be the same. In general I root for everyone to win, if I'm on the losing side having everyone join me doesn't make me feel any better, actually makes me feel worse if they took my advice and lost.
