I was just wondering if any of you know whether or not there are sportsbooks in Vegas that have wifi. Is it possible to be browsing the web on an Iphone before you step up to the window?
Thanks

Interesting. They had wifi available? I've heard some sportsbooks are tolerant with cell phones and laptops but its up to the casino's discretion. I haven't heard of any sportsbook that has actuall wifi available.

The rule of thumb has always typically been no cell phones in sportsbooks, just like they are usually outlawed at the blackjack tables.

all casinos rules are different .... there are some that dont let you use cell phones at all ...
and some let you use cell/laptops as long as it is not used while at the window

When I worked at caesers palace in the sportsbook
Their rule was you could not be near the betting windows( infront of the seats) looking at the board while on the phone.
If you were looking the other way standing their it was ok.
Also no phones/ipads/laptops at the window.
Dont care if your talking to your grandma about thanksgiving dinner
Dont be on the phone at the window
And if your bets are in/on your phone go write them down then come make your bet.
Also dont know any sportsbook in Vegas with free wifi
I have seen them have it you can buy at the hotels, but not free.
And I do see several people on their own computer using the internet.

Got another question:
What about in the hotel rooms, is that free?
I see that their is some reason to keep the laptops out of the sports books.

I dont know of any hotel on the strip that has free wifi.
You might catch a starbucks, McDs, or restaurant with free wifi on the strip
But signal is not that strong to use else where.
Like Baby cakes in the M has free wifi but go 200 ft to the sports book you get nothing
Off strip you might find hotels with free wifi, but not sure haven't stayed at those.

A couple years ago the Venetian had wifi on the casino floor, not sure about the sportsbook. Same week I used men’s room off the SB at the Mirage wanted to call my buddy to meet for lunch. Put the phone to my ear while walking through the SB and “swarm – swarm” they acted like I was the Unabomber or something.

No idea about the casinos and wifi, but why do you need it? 3g surfs the net almost as fast on the Iphone.

You can most definitely sit in a sportsbook all day on your laptop and scalp numbers. Only a few do in this town, but they exist

Lof old fukkin dinosaurs in this thread clearly not up to date on Vegas. I know for a fact Planet Hollywood, Polazzo, Venetian all have free wifi and don't give a fug if you got your pad out browsin the web in their books.

Thanks modern gamblers, for that info on the above two posts! I am an old "hungry" dinosaur, always on the hunt for fresh meat!
Now, is there only leftovers to be found on your hunt, or, is there enough thick, freshly killed meat to feast on to fill my belly for a month?
Of course, my legs ain't what they used to be, so I have move a little slower now, and hopefully, I can grab a tasty morsel before a young pup whisks by me and steals my prize!

Correct
The South Point has Wifi in their sportsbook, although one has to find a good seat to stay fully connected.

How is recent/latest situation? Surfing thru your phone while at sportsbook (looking at odds) can be a problem? Sportsbook owners warn you if yo do it? Or it's relax now?
WIFI not a must, 3G should do the trick. But if it's not allowed to use phone in sportsbook, that's problem.
