Computer error prices gas at $1.40 at Ohio station

CINCINNATI (AP) - A computer error caused a Cincinnati area service station to sell gas for $1.40 instead of $4.10, leading to a major traffic jam. Vehicles clogged the area around a Marathon station in suburban Sycamore Township while the bargain was available for roughly three hours on Tuesday, until Hamilton County sheriff's deputies persuaded the station to shut down.

Tiffany Smith waited in line for two hours to take advantage of the deal. She says these days, her family has to decide between buying food or buying gas, and the fuel price glitch would allow her to do both.

The store clerk told WKRC-TV he didn't know how to fix the problem and was having trouble reaching his store manager.

I like the broad that said her family has to chose between buying gas or food. Give me a break! Sell the damn truck and walk if you don't have money to buy food.

Would this be the same as hitting a bogus line at a book? Shouldn't they report it?

Food or gas? Hmmmm. You can't drive if your dead bitch.

Yeah I can't believe it took them 3 hours to shut down. I'd have had that shit shut down within minutes.

Canoe, bicycle, horse, glider, bus, train, walking does not need gas. America is the only country in the world that people are depended on their automobiles. You will think that the high gas prices will solve the obesity and laziness problem but people they have to buy their gas before they eat.

I wouldn't laugh to hard at that lady. Most everyone here would wait 2 hours in line if gas was $1.40.

It's a sign of the times fellows. 7 years ago, people would have been outraged if you told them gas was $2.00. Now, most Americans are begging for $3.00 gas and will most likely pay $5.00 by the end of the year.

I remeber another station selling gas fo 30 cents or so. No one caught it until all the gas sold out. The attendant was angry cause no one told him. I guess the unusually long lines didnt clue him in.

bus takes natural gas which is cheaper. Also a $2 fare for a 30 mile round trip is cheaper than driving your car especially when one bus can carry 100 people.

I don't know about Cincy but where I am righ now if u don't have a car u can't do anything. Nearest bus stop is about 20 miles away. Supermarket, restaurants, banks, etc are equally far. Heck even our mailbox is 2 miles away. Forget taxis cause even a trip to the market will cost u $50.

Ive even had people begging me to buy them gas. Sad state of affairs we are in currently thanks to Dumbya and his oil cartel.

I agree at not laughing too hard at that lady because it might be cheaper to ride a bike but until you have to VERY FEW will do it and that includes MOST OF US...

I disagree about $5 gas... This is basically it's highest point until next summer and at that time I believe we see $5...

Another pet peeve of mine are these Bushites blaming SUV owners when we complain about high gas prices. I don't know about others but mine was purchased when gas just $1.49. All the Bushites say why don't u just sell it..... but they don't know that there is no market for SUVs as there's a glut of them sitting on dealer lots. If I get lucky and someone miraculosly wants to buy mine it'll be at 20% of wholesale value. So its dammed if I do or dammed if I don't.

And if u to blame anyone blame Bush for pushing SUVs like when he gave $100k tax break to business owner that bought Hummers and Navigators.

It appears the Dumbyas are the people that voted him. It appears the future on his mind was SUV's, not a mass transit system for people to commute because he wanted oil to be at $150 per barrel by his exit so he can cash his futures and stock options in Cheney's companies.

The only terrorists we actually bread after 9/11 are the oil companies because everyone is scared to death from the price of gas.

Agree with a lot of what you said.

His agenda was pretty clear from the beginning when he refused to sign a mandate to raise the MPG by just 1 which wouldve saved millions of barrels of oil a year. Then he doubles the tax break from $50k for those buying mammoth SUVs. Not to mention buying up all the oil from private refineries causing price of barrel of oil to nearly double overnight.

Idling burns about a mile of gas every minute. For 2 hours she wasted 120 miles. If she was driving an SUV with 15 mpg, she wasted 8 gallons of gas or about $35 dollars of gas waiting to pump the $1.40 gas.

Ok so does GW own an oil company or a refinerary..?

Oil and gas must not be DIRECTLY corerlated because one goes up 1200% percent and the other 400%.
