#883Tashard Choice or Maurice Morris?
I have Jahvid Best and passed up on all the Ronnie Brown hype, but getting Morris would give me a handcuff for Best now that Brown is still a Eagle.
Choice will be sharing carries with DeMarco Murray and I read everywhere that Murray will get the bulk of the carries anyway.
I had Choice, then just dropped him for Morris 30 minutes ago.
Oh yeah. I have McCoy, and he is on BYE. So my active RB's this week would be Jahvid Best (if he plays), James Starks, and Pierre Thomas. This is why I need another RB for this week.
Who should I get on my roster? Choice or Morris.Comment -

#893IDP Top 30: Week 7
Top 30 Independent Defensive Players (IDP): Week 7
Elite (12-plus points)
1. Desmond Bishop, LB, Packers
at Vikings
After his 14 tackle (nine solo) performance last week, Bishop now ranks third in the league in total tackles. He also has three sacks.
2. Ray Lewis, LB, Ravens
at Jaguars
Lewis had himself an average game against the Texans, compiling 12 total tackles and a sack. His new target is Maurice Jones-Drew, who sees a lot of action with Blaine Gabbert at QB.
Super (8-11 points)
3. D’Qwell Jackson, LB, Browns
vs. Seahawks
Jackson is a Top 5 IDP, putting together 49 tackles (36 solo), 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble through the first five games.
4. James Anderson, LB, Panthers
vs. Redskins
Anderson has been a solid pickup ever since Jon Beason got injured with double-digit tackles in two-straight games. He should fare quite well against the Redskins’ rushing attack.
5. Thomas DeCoud, S, Falcons
at Lions
DeCoud has 29 solo tackles and three interceptions thus far, and should make an impact against Matthew Stafford’s pass-happy offense.
6. Chris Houston, CB, Lions
vs. Falcons
Expect Houston to get plenty of opportunities Sunday vs. Matt Ryan.
7. Roman Harper, S, Saints
vs. Colts
Indianapolis has no running game and will be down early. Therefore, Harper will thrive against Curtis Painter and the Colts’ pass offense.
8. Stephen Tulloch, LB, Lions
vs. Falcons
Tulloch has been somewhat quiet lately, but Atlanta’s Michael Turner was handed 27 carries last week. If this continues, it can produced big IDP games for linebackers.
9. Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Falcons
at Lions
Weatherspoon has been the anchor to Atlanta’s defense, racking up 40 solo tackles through five weeks.
10. Charles Tillman, CB, Bears
at Buccaneers
Tillman had 10 solo tackles against Donovan McNabb’s timid air raid, so we have to think he can do just as well against
Josh Freeman.
11. Lance Briggs, LB, Bears
at Buccaneers
He had less than eight tackles for the first time since the opener, but Briggs still leads the Bears with 49 total tackles on the season.
12. Daryl Smith, LB, Jaguars
vs. Ravens
From a fantasy standpoint, Smith has been solid all year, averaging over seven points an outing.
13. Paul Posluszny, LB, Jaguars
vs. Ravens
The Jags’ defense will continue to stay on the field, which allows Posluszny time to rack up tackles, just as he did last week (16 total).
Solid (4-7 points)
14. Sean Lee, LB, Cowboys
vs. Rams
Lee had 12 tackles and an interception in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
15. Rolando McClain, LB, Raiders
vs. Chiefs
McClain had six solo tackles last week vs. the Browns and continues to be a strong IDP.
16. Pat Angerer, LB, Colts
at Saints
Angerer leads the NFL in total tackles (73).
17. Yeremiah Bell, S, Dolphins
vs. Broncos
Bell has 21 solo tackles in the last two games.
18. Tyvon Branch, S, Raiders
vs. Chiefs
Branch has back-to-back six solo tackle performances.
19. Jason McCourty, CB, Titans
vs. Texans
McCourty has 18 solo tackles in the last two games.
20. Jared Allen, DE, Vikings
vs. Packers
Allen has had at least one sack for eight consecutive games.
21. James Farrior, LB, Steelers
at Cardinals
Farrior leads the team in tackles (35) and should carry on his title against Beanie Wells and the Cardinals.
22. Brian Cushing, LB, Texans
at Titans
Cushing will be cashing in on Chris Johnson’s attempts to regain prestige.
23. Chad Greenway, LB, Vikings
vs. Packers
Greenway is averaging just under six fantasy points per game.
24. Morgan Burnett, S, Packers
at Vikings
Burnett broke his hand in practice this week and will be playing in a cast, so we’ll see if this impacts his consistent performance.
25. Curtis Lofton, LB, Falcons
at Lions
Lofton is coming off his worst fantasy weekend of the season, but should bounce back decently against Detroit.
26. Ladarius Webb, CB, Ravens
at Jaguars
Webb led the Ravens in tackles for the second week in a row with 10 against the Titans.
27. James Laurinaitis, LB, Rams
vs. Cowboys
As long as the offense struggles, Laurinaitis will continue to get solid looks on defense.
28. Wesley Woodyard, LB, Broncos
at Dolphins
Woodyard has put up good fantasy numbers this year, but his stock is down after it was announced that DJ Williams will be seeing more playing time.
29. Donald Butler, LB, Chargers
at Jets
Butler had four tackles and an interception in last Sunday’s win over the Broncos.
30. Bart Scott, LB, Jets
vs. Chargers
It’ll be Ryan Mathews and the running game vs. Bart Scott and the defensive front seven.Comment -

#894Quarterbacks
Start:
Tim Tebow @ Miami: Tebow has averaged about 12 fantasy points just running the ball in the four games he’s played significant minutes. Throw in what he can do in the passing game and you have potential for a solid fantasy performance. Don’t start him over Rodgers, Brees, Stafford, or Newton, but if you have Tebow and Rivers (@NYJ) there is a case to be made to see What Would Tebow Do. Don’t forget he’s also returning to Florida.
.
Sit:
Sam Bradford @ Dallas: Yes, he got a boost in his WR corps in the trade for Brandon Lloyd. Though Lloyd is familiar with Josh McDaniels, it could take some time for him to build a rapport with Bradford. Plus, Bradford (ankle) is dealing with mobility issues. Not a good thing when you’re facing DeMarcus Ware.
.
Running Backs
Start:
DeMarco Murray vs. St. Louis: Felix Jones is out with an ankle injury. Tashard Choice was on the trading block and perhaps would have been dealt if it were not for Felix’s injury. Murray got the bulk of the carries last week and should do the same against the Ram’s league worst rushing defense (163 ypg).
.
Jackie Battle @ Oakland: Battle has some tough match-ups coming up, but this (on paper) isn’t one of them. He faces a Raiders team yielding 113.2 ypg on the ground. In a bye week this figures to be a pretty solid match-up.
.
Sit:
Ryan Torain @ Carolina: I say this as I’m penciling him in for my main league as my RB2 due to Fred Jackson’s bye. The Skins can’t get any worse quarterback play than last week which should at least give the ground game a chance. The problem is you never know with Shanahan. If you’re curious my bench options are Jonathan Stewart and Tim Hightower. If you’re like me and don’t really have a choice then play Torain. Otherwise look elsewhere.
.
Wide Receivers
Start:
Greg Little vs. Seattle: McCoy targeted Little heavily last week, a trend that should continue again this week against a Seahawks team yielding 268.2 passing yards per game.
.
Sit:
Mike Thomas vs. Baltimore: The Jags simply aren’t scoring points and they are facing the league’s stingiest defense. It’s so bad that they even brought back the inept Mike Sims-Walker. Talk about an elevated Yuck factor.
.
Tight Ends
Start:
Kellen Winslow vs. Chicago: Some teams struggle against tight ends. The Bears are one of them. I’m not expecting a Jimmy Graham performance from Winslow, but he should have a solid game. With five catches in each of the past three games he’s clearly a big part of their offense.
.
Sit:
Ed Dickson @ Jacksonville: Through the first four games Dickson was heavily targeted. Coming out of the bye the Ravens did a better job of getting the ball to their receivers. I expect more of that and a heavy dose of Ray Rice.
.
Defenses
Start:
Dallas vs. St. Louis: The Cowboys have had some embarrassing losses this year. Look for them to take the most recent one (Patriots) out on the Rams. The Rams have scored the fewest points per game and their quarterback is banged up. Not a good recipe.
.
Sit:
Houston @ Tennessee: The Titans have been solid on defense this year, but they aren’t the same without Mario Williams. Tennessee has committed just six turnovers this year and yielded just seven sacks.Comment -

#895Demarco Murray: Felix Jones has a high ankle sprain and will be out 2-4 weeks. The Cowboys get a good rush defense schedule with STL, @PHI, SEA, and BUF in the next 4 weeks. Seattle is the only defense there with a strong rush defense and then you are scraping the bottom of the barrel with the rest of those scrub Ds. Murray looked quicker and more decisive than Tashard Choice and also didn’t fumble. Murray will split time with Choice but should see the majority of the carries while Jones is out and his matchups make him a premium add.
Montario Hardesty: Peyton Hillis is hurting with a hamstring injury and Hardesty will take over as the main guy if he is out for any time. So far Hardesty hasn’t really flashed any play making ability, but a starting running back is a starting running back is a starting running back. He wouldn’t have anyone really cutting into his looks which is good but the next two opponents he faces are Seattle and San Francisco. Those are both stout run defenses. He’s a for sure add in most leagues, but keep expectations lowered.
Michael Crabtree: If he’s out there he is a must add at this point. He’s the #1 receiver and got half a billion targets against the Lions on Sunday. As long as the 49ers are moving the ball he’ll have value.
Eric Decker: He should be the receiver that benefits the most from Brandon Lloyd’s departure. He’s shown more ability than just being a possession receiver and has the height and hands to help Tim Tebow out. He should be the most targeted receiver by far until Thomas or Royal step up, if they do.
Jake Ballard: He’s not getting a ton of receptions, but he continues to do good things with them. He’ll be on a bye this week, but if you need a TE and have the room you should be able to get him fairly easily. And they get Miami and New England off the bye. I like those matchups.
Roy Helu: Yes, the Redskins backfield is a crap festival of gargantuan proportions, but last week they sure weren’t helped by Rex Grossman giving the ball away over and over. Helu is still my favorite running back and could easily emerge from the cluster-eff, but I do hate that I have to pay to watch my stories now.
Greg Little: The Browns wide receiving corps isn’t really one that I like to mine for fantasy purposes, but the Brownies have been throwing more and Little has gotten 8 and 11 targets in his last 2 games. He gets Seattle next week which will be a nice matchup for him and help us gauge how well he can exploit good matchups.
James Jones: He only had one catch, but it was for a touchdown and the Packers had the game in hand before it started. He’s not going to be consistent, but he keeps on getting fantasy points so maybe he will be. But probably not. But maybe.
Steve Breaston: Dwayne Bowe is playing some outstanding football right now and will continue to get more coverage pushed his way and as that is happening Breaston is building a rapport with Matt Cassel.
Doug Baldwin: He is looking like a solid player for the Seahawks and should continue to see targets, but will be inconsistent just like the Seattle offense. I’m liking his overall ability and he has ability to fight for the ball and eat up some yards after the catch.
Damian Williams: He’s scored in his last two games and in the right matchup should have value with Hasselbeck throwing to him.
Torrey Smith: His upside is worth a bye week play for sure. He will get his deep targets and has looked light years better than Lee Evans. He’s a home run hitter, but sometimes we need to swing for the fences.
Greg Salas: He had 10 targets and 8 receptions and redeemed himself after a horrid debut a few weeks back. In full PPR leagues he’s worth a look for sure. He’s young and will have some down games, but I like his situation with Lloyd coming in to help open up the underneath routes for Salas even more.
Demaryius Thomas: With Brandon Lloyd getting shipped off to St. Louis and Thomas expected to be back in week 7 it might be time to do a preemptive strike and add him. We have absolutely no clue how he is health wise and if he has the upside he had before his injury, but he did have upside. The main problem of course is Tim Tebow’s lack of accuracy, but if Thomas can be the deep threat like Lloyd was he could have value.
C.J. Spiller: Against the Giants C.J. Spiller was on the field for more snaps (35) than his previous 3 weeks combined. He is being used as a receiver and needs to be on PPR radars, but don’t add him on name alone. We really need to see if this will keep up before going all nutso crazy.
Donald Brown: Well, Donald Brown may not be the worst running back on the Colts. At this point I’m not sure that means much at this point, but he looked quicker than Delone Carter and ran for a touchdown. He’s starting to look like the better backup to Addai. Joe may be back next week so don’t lose your mind trying to pick up Brown, but in deeper leagues he might be a good add.
John Beck: The Redskins aren’t as horrid as Rex Grossman makes them look. If Beck can keep from throwing 4 interceptions he will be an upgrade and worth an add in 2 QB leagues.
Christian Ponder: Ponder didn’t look like total crap during garbage time on Sunday night and is worth a preemptive add in 2QB leagues. He hasn’t been named the starter but he will eventually.
Adds if they happen to be out there: Earnest Graham, Jackie Battle, Marshawn Lynch, Jay Cutler, Tim Tebow, Matt Cassel
Drops: Lance Moore, Denarius Moore, Jason Avant, Rex Grossman, Cadillac Williams, Plaxico Burress, Davone Bess, Robert Meachem, Antonio Brown, Lee Evans, Pierre ThomasComment -

#908OK OK. I'm in trouble at RB this week. Best gets a concussion on the worse possible week. LeSean McCoy BYE.
Here are my RB options this week, which two?
James Starks vs Vikings (Only has to share with Ryan Grant)
Pierre Thomas vs Colts (Has to share with Ingram and Sproles)
Maurice Morris vs Falcons (Should get the bulk of the carries/touches)
I'm taking it that Best is out this week. I currently have Pierre and Morris going. Vikings could be tough against the run, but thinking Starks because he only has to share the backfield with Grant, versus Pierre and two others for the Saints.
