Don't you hate getting your car inspected

Mechanics know that the average and even above average car people basically don't know shit about your car other than how to drive them. So they feel they can rip off people by saying they need things they don't need.

I went in for an inspection and I needed 2 new tires....ok fine, it's been a couple years.

Then when getting the new tires, the other place gave me a list of shit I needed which came to about $900. I said I'll just take the tires...which was still $200+ with a $25 coupon.

Damn you mechanics

On a bright note, i passed inspection and won't have to deal with that for another year

I hate it too.... where I live we have to pass an emmissions test and so fourth. Take about 30 min to do an inspection now a days here. What happen to the good ole days of honk the horn, check the lights, and wipers, and off you go !

Weird, we don't have any inspections here in Ontario just emissions.

But I know my way around the mechanic/car parts/car business thing.

God damn this is a good thread to vent. Went to a small shop to get my inspection and they failed me because of my tint. I went to a larger shop and guess what? they pass me. It's a scam! F utah's safety inspection!

Went in last last week for inspection and the junkie working at the place told me he couldn't do emissions test because my car's 'computer system' was down because I had jsut replaced battery. Fukker told me I had to drive 100 miles. Had to go back earlier today to finally get the damn sticker.

I have had that happen to me too...if there is any sort of warning within the system, you have to do a certain number of miles before it can be tested.
