Might not see another buying opportunity like this ever. Some well placed bets right now could net a four or five bagger in just a few years time.

I'm gonna throw 10k at some beat up bank stocks today. Looks like we may bleed further at the open....oil got pushed above $142.00 this morning.

    What an opportunity this is.....

I am accumulating FNM and FRE under 20 whenever possible. Figure it's a double bagger in a few years.

I'm telling you, not only that, but it pays a dividend....a decent one at that. Now those dividends aren't safe for the time being but down the road the div's will perk back up.

So you buy at under $25.00, re-invest all div's into additional shares......come back in 2 - 5 years....maybe sooner. Your a happy man.

Bank of America isn't going under.....

A 3 year is all you need to evaluate a stock price these days? And all this time I thought there was so much more to it than that. Why am I making it so difficult for myself?

I just covered all my short positions yesterday. I also think that there will be a short covering rally especially in the beaten down financials. BAC has been getting a beating and really for no other reason than it is a financial. I'm with you in the short term with this one. I also like citigroup even though the volume has been going up while the stock has been tanking.

In all honesty, I wouldn't be buying much right now. This economy is not getting any better any time soon. And with all of the real estate and mortgage lending issues right now, banking would certainly not be my first choice.

I guess it's a matter of opinion. The banking sector has been beat to sh1t. Some good looking tech out there as well.

Savy investors grab their balls when there is blood in the streets and start buying, it's the best time. Buffet is famous for this, he doesn't buy trendy stocks at the top.

It's hard to believe banking, underwriting, broker/dealer services and the financial services sector are dead money.....that they will never rebound in the U.S. Probably not good to place a bet against the banking sector at this point in time.

If Citigroup gets close to $16.00 I am taking a shot. Period.

I agree that the overall market is going to continue to decline, but this is a buying op form the short term in the financials. The fact that nobody wants these stocks indicates that it is a buying op for at least the short term. Long term investors are probably O.K. as well even though I think the best time will come in November for the financials.

Just picked up 400 BAC @$25.10 and 550 C @ 17.80 at the bell. I set up a tight stop in case of another down day at 2.5% for each.

Remember to place a stop everyone, it is there for your protection against complete failure.

Populations are rising worldwide. Housing is limited, it's not infinite. Demand for housing will return, it's something you can say with certainty. The banks will be there to profit.

Got stopped out of my plays for the day and lost about $500 total. The market continues to go down hard. Kind of like my ex-wife on anyone who will buy her dinner at Burger King with a coupon.

I agree. BAC, C, and GS.

GS downgraded C to a sell yesterday, perfect time to pick some up for the long term..

Should all be a nice double in 3 to 5.

This is the best time to buy right now. If you into options leaps are some of the best things going. Banks, home builders, almost every industry that's getting it's arse kicked get leaps for two years and sell as they start to come back next year. Wish I had more "fun" money I could actually do this with

One more thing to drink to in a couple years when I see what could have been...

This country is going down the toilet. I exchanged some of my US money into Euro's a few days ago. I'm glad to say that my money is going up instead of down. Moving to Europe might be a good idea for me. But still thinking about it.

I think its far too early to buy. There will be a lot in the way of correction in the coming months. I think shorting in the near term is the best option and looking to buy in the next 6-10 months will present more opportunity, especially in financials.

I think the positive market internals are just not there like other years when the market really went down. Oil prices are not coming down therefore the market can never rally, it is economics 101.

The US is being forced/blackmailed by the Zionists to attack Iran. Bush is on board with that. Wait for that if you want to pick up some real bargains.

Yea I cut myself yesterday alright. I got to learn to take my own advice. I should have left after taking profits from all my short plays on Thursday. Luckily I have stops in all my stocks so I don't take a big cut. But cuts hurt none the less. The way stuff is going I wouldn't be surprised to see another financial fall like bear sterns. BTW if you in the market for a house, now is an excellent time for that shit. I was just talking to my friends in Florida and they say there are for sale signs all up and down their block. The only problem is that banks are gun shy now and are tight with the loans.

It will be hard to get a loan though unless you have 25% down which for Florida may be at least 100 grand. Sports betting may be the option for investing right now instead of stocks or housing.
