    Cardinals +128

I had a dream that Pujols hits a grand slam or maybe it was a grand slam breakfast at Denny's. I guess I'll find out soon.

I would've laid my $500 on the Tigers. St. Louis is a great team, but I simply don't see them winning this game.

              Good Luck Nonetheless...

Detroit should be down 3 or 4 to nothing.

I'm big on the Tigers here but if I'd seen the starting lineups before I bet I wouldn't have done it. Didn't realize Pujols was coming back today. If the Tigers end up pulling this one out somehow I'll feel very lucky.

Sheeet, as soon as I saw Sheff due up 2nd, I knew he'd hit one out.

Cards don't deserve to win this anyways. 2 runs on 14 hits. Just pathetic.

Told you that Detroit was the better bet (fix or no fix). They're finally stepping up to the plate as a legitimate contender in the AL Central.

I think LaRussa is just a bad manager. Am I wrong for believing this? Is he still thought to be some kind of genius? I've been either for or against the Cards a lot lately, and have noticed him just doing odd things. He intentionally walked 2 batters that inning, in particular, walking an 0-for Cabrera, a righty, to get to a lefty (with a righthanded pitcher). What do I know though...

Why did he take out Wellemeyer who was pitching a shutout with only 76 pitches in 5 innings? Of course Villone comes in and immediately gives up the game's first run. And then brings in a guy with an 8ERA to pitch to the top of the order in the 10th. He's obviously drunk off his ass again.

Wellmeyer has elbow problems. He wanted to limit his pitch count.

Yes, as pavyracer said, Wellemeyer was coming off a layoff due to an arm injury, so he couldn't have been expected to go deep into the game. This fact and an assumption that Pujols was out were why I bet against Stl today.

But yeah, I mean, if the fix was in, I can't think of a better way to do it than bring in a pitcher with 8.00 ERA to pitch the bottom of the 10th, and then intentionally walk 2 batters. Not much of a chance.

Just take your lucky win and shut the hell up.

Dude, you don't speak for the SBR Forum. Most are intelligent, respectful posters who don't rub it in after a lucky win. You're the exception not the rule.
