I have a hunch a person could make a good income from the hobbie of gathering losing? sports betting tickets in Vegas and checking for winners. There are so many novices and so many people drinking too much or just in awe of seeing Las Vegas for the first time where they don't even realize they threw away a winning ticket.

I wonder what percentage of winning sportsbets are never paid out because of tickets being tossed in the garbage?

While you're doing that, why not check on the ground for cigarette butts. Get enough of them and you'll have enough tobacco to roll a new cigarette - for free!

Anyone can counterfeit a ticket. The real skill is to actually cash it.

Ticket altering is a felony-Also ticket number is entered into the computer-not hand read anymore.

Inside jobs almost worked--but eventually got caught-2 girls from audit collected losing tickets from the floor-garbage-etc.-waited two weeks-changed results in the computer-cashed the losing tickets-then re-entered the correct results.OUTSIDE AUDIT CAUGHT THEM 6 MONTHS LATER-ONE RATTED THE OTHER OUT-be careful I have caught several-eventually they say that they FOUND the ticket.Cameras do not lie-

Uncashed tickets go to state of Nevada-not into the hands of the casino.

When I was a bit younger I would just leave my tickets on the table at the track. There were old bats that would just walk around and take the tickets from the floor, off the tables, etc. I then started ripping up my tickets.

I caught this old guy taking my tickets 3 times. They weren't live tickets, but maybe I would have put them through the machine.

At least two occasions I would have ****ed up. I bet a pick 4 at Tampa and lost the 1st leg. I ripped my ticket in two. The next race started the late pick 3. I hit the pick 3 for $8,000 for $1. The pick4 paid $700 if you had 3 out of 4, which I did. I just as well could have left the ticket there and bounced if I ran out of funds and didn't rip the tickets.

Another time at Turfway, I played a pick 3 and it paid $500 for 2 out of 3. I lost the first leg and threw the ticket away. I was able to find it.

I really don't go to the track now since I have a book that has great max payouts on pick 4's, but during the last 4 years when I go, I keep my tickets and run them through the machine. I occasionally come up with a scratch here and there for $1 or $2. It makes me think of the tickets I could have thrown away.

When CASEARS first opened in Lake Tahoe-there was a 10 teamer made- first game lost-next 9 won. there was a payout for the 9 out of 10. It went uncollected-the payout--25,000.
