Back before every county in the USA had a casino it was a mindset to play slots while waiting for your home flight departure at the Vegas airport.Everyone knew the slots payout there was terrible but the old ladies just had to play them because it might be a long time before they played slots again. You have a captive audience there without competition so the slots don't have to be competitive.Has anyone ever won big there or saw someone win big there? Now with the 9-11 deal where you have to show up for your flight 3 hours early they really have a captive audience with free time on their hands.
So why not have a sportsbook at the Vegas airport?Lots of people that just have connecting flights there who don't leave the airport would be sure fire customers. You would get a ton of impulse buying of bets too from guys that were in town for a few days and regret not betting a certain event.I could see a sportsbook in the airport being the cause of allot of heartaches.
How many people here would probably go bananas making bets they never intended to make if there was a sportsbook at the Vegas airport?
