#84Easily down mid 5 figures lifetime. That's spread out over 20 years of gambling. Wonder how much people with other hobbies have spent over a 20 year period. 3000 a year seems easy to blow.Comment -

This! If you are not down big time the money are not the problem, the main issue is the time you lose! Life is precious guys every second is important!

#97Here is the deal guys. If you are just a gambler meaning making the bets and not taking them you will be down eventually. Nobody, or almost nobody wins in the long run. I hate to call people liars but I know for a fact that nobody wins. Saying that -- maybe 1 out of 100 and I think that number is very liberal, it might be more like 1 in 1000 in the long run is a winner.
The person that said horse players might be up, well those guys have an even worst ratio of win to loss. I doubt if 1 in 10,000 win in that sport, in the long run. I have been around gamblers longer than most of you are alive and I know not one horse player that is up.
Only one way to win when you are betting sports, just one way, the only way.Comment -

#105I'm thankful to be up by a comfortable amount lifetime. Not anywhere near six figures. Early money management hiccups are to blame. It took me 7 yrs to get that down.
My best 'guess', 40 to 50K
Been doing this since I was 10. Used to book in HS. Not an impressive amount at all
