SD is overpaying for Weddle, I liked him but not for the money SD is going to pony up.
five-year, $40 million deal with $19 million gauranteed

Great moves. The trade for Roy Williams was one of the worst in Cowboys history.

Yeah, Barber's career gets cut short for playing too hard. That does suck.
Barber was cut for lack of production, less than 400 yards for what he's making??? He's the 4th best back on the Cowboys roster now. Good move.
He did play hard but he was never the same after becoming the starter and had clearly lost a step and couldn't handle the load. He also strayed away from his bruising running style and preferred to bounce outside on 3rd and 1...basically a non factor for 2+ years but to be fair he was also hampered by hamstring injuries.
If you recall, his best couple years, when he was breaking 8 tackles in the end zone against the Pats to avoid a safety, etc, were when he was the change of pace and third down back...
He will be an asset to some team in the same role, but not for $4.25 mil as a backup.
Best of luck to him.

The talk is he'll end up signing with the Texans.
I saw that news about Bowen, the foreskins paying more than Jerry was willing to. Cowboys still trying to get C. Jenkins and still don't know what the future holds for Spears. 1st rounder Tyron Smith, agreed to terms yesterday. Kosier locked up as well. I'm hoping Columbo will re-negotiate and stay with the 'Boys.
Cowboys still need an OG, D line and S postions addressed.
