7/20 vs. NYY
7/15 vs. BOS
7/09 @ NYY
7/04 @ MIN
6/28 vs. CIN
6/22 @ MIL
6/16 vs. BOS
These are the last 7 teams Rays starter David Price has faced. He has averaged 112 pitches, and hasn't given up more than 4 runs to any of these teams. This guy has been flying under the radar of late and I think this has everything to do with it. If he had been facing the weaker hitting teams lately, he would probably have an ERA under 3 and be a much bigger favorite tonight against the Oakland A's.
There is a huge difference between pitching to guys like A.Gonzalez, Pedroia, Fielder, Braun, Votto, Cano, and Teixeira in hitters parks compared to facing the Athletics feared hitters (Matsui, Willingham, Coco Crisp, Connor Jackson, etc.) in a pitchers park...
Ofcourse, the actual human beings that will be playing the game tonight have nothing to do with the outcome, it all comes down to line movement and public %'s... So, I probably just wasted all my time figuring this stuff out...
The Line opened around -137 and is currently -127. This is probably because McCarthy is a little undervalued and the A's do better vs. lefties.. but this isn't any ordinary lefty.... This isn't Jason Vargas and the Mariners that the A's are used to..., this is David Price and the Rays....
The bullpens are pretty much a wash...
There is not question the Rays should be favored tonight, are they worth -127??
I think so...
Rays -127
