The part that frightens me is that I know this and have been following this quite closely despite not living in the US for close to 10 years now but I'm not sure if many of the posters in this thread do. Yet they feel they can give a decent opinion on the state of the US economy. (No offence to anyone but there's kind of some ridiculously important stuff going on this week other than a heat wave and the baseball season.)

ETA: After seeing Opie's post above me, I do agree with him and Canuck that looking for an intellectual conversation about this on a gambling forum - or at least in PT - might be stretching it a bit. Not that the people on here aren't intelligent but I'm not sure that a discussion about the pathetic state of the US economy is the reason they come to SBR.

Of course man, that's where China's demand to the US stems from.

For those that don't understand the issue, the US is essentially trying to raise the spending limit on their CC. They are very close to the limit already and are now calling up their CC company to increase that limit. It's like giving a crackhead more crack if you ask me. This country (the USA, aka Divided States of Embarrassment) is beyond ridiculous and is anything but rational. With all the debt they are in, they are trying to get themselves into more???
