#3If it's in a casino, the structure is probably very fast. Pay attention to the blinds/level/etc and ramp up the aggression when you're starting to get low on chips.Comment -

#6Don't look like it's your 1st tourney. Strike some conversation with a few folks, have a good time. Don't just sit there in your un-showered hoodie, with headphones on, looking like a first timer.
Also this first tourney is a holdem tourney? Or is it other poker?Comment -

#7only act when it is your turn...I see many newbies try and bet when it is someone else's turn to actComment -

#8Its Holdem, and the place is some hunting club somewhere here in Ohio. But apparently this is a big time thing, they have tournaments almost every week and always have a good showing (in terms of numbers)Comment -

#10I'm 19 as well and primarily play tournaments as well.....final tabled past 2....and thing you have to realize is that most B&M players you'll run into are AWFUL. Don't let them see the flop cheap when you have a hand.....raise your button with anything that is marginable because there are a ton of nits and you'll keep picking up the blinds and antes.Comment -

#24Pretty much everything people have said so far, but can't stress enough never move the button yourself or offer to make change for others without the dealer doing it, was dumbfounded how many people got upset about speeding the game up.Comment -

#25play the button, its your best friend. Remember not to play sbr poker, there is no need to go all in with 3000 chips to win 30. The key i see most newbies and internet players screw up on is overbetting pots and playing way to many hands. You cant just say play aggresive or play conservative. You should in the beginning try to figure out your table. Make friends with the aggresive players and try to find spots. Don't bluff the first couple rounds, actually i rarely bluff unless its deep and i know i can get away with it. Most internet players love to bluff, it doesnt work that much in person. Act confident and have fun thats what its about.Comment -

#34I didn't think there was any issue with it, but there were two live only older players at my table complaining about the game being sped up and one cocky/dorky internet kid with a Stars Supernova Elite sweatshirt that kept needling them about it, making change on the 9 seats ante from the 3 seat etc.Comment -
