Pay levels vary greatly depending on the individual's skill set. Housing is moderately expensive if you were to rent very close to the office. SBR is located in one of the better parts of the city. Most expenses such as food are much lower.

I'd doubt food is cheaper in CR than US.

Milk $3 a gallon here or 75c a liter.

A 2 liter Coke is 99c.

A dozen eggs is $1.50.
