Agree, wouldn't be very advantageous gambling if no bets like that were ever made IMO. Sometimes you have to make a move and manufacture some +$, certainly don't need to actually win the tourney to be able to pay themselves off.

For the play to have value either the futures bet has to be positive EV, or the hedging bets have to be positive EV. I wish you best of luck, both bets seem live to me (although I don't think Nalbandian is 100%).

I'm passing on all futures for Wimbledon, however I can't say I blame you one bit for taking some of that action on Gasquet at 80-1. Great potential hedging opportunity if he makes it far enough.
