Hell take 'organic' and 'free range' foods as another...great products and we're always told to eat them.....but people still go to Burger King for the $ .99 menu since it's so much more expensive for the alternative. Actually you dont make a fuel that will work in an internal combustion engine (one of the most inefficient inventions ever) you invent a whole new more efficient engine. Obviously it has been done in a few forms, and some of them really work. The ultimate hurdle is all the money that is tied up in the established areas that control everything.

As far as the show, make anything that takes time off doing something and allows people to waste more time, will sell. Because people want it now, they want it fast, and they want it easy. So the ultimaete invention would be a hat that created stuff you thought of and materialized it right in front of you.
