Are these the two worst lineups in the history of baseball?

Not one Mariner or Padre is an above average hitter.

Ichiro used to be, but now he sucks.

The Mariners are using Ackley, a light hitting rookie at #3. The guy will never hit over .300 and can't hit HR's.

The Padres didn't hit the ball out of the infield for 5 innings last night against Bumgarner/bullpen.


Oakland is on the verge of being in this thread.

I neglected to inform you that the Padres scored something like 4 runs over the course of 45 innings.....averaging less than .5 runs per game over that stretch.

That's unheard of.

Pads offense is beyond garbage, they might be one of the worst hitting teams in the history of MLB.

I feel bad for the Pads' fans, at least if you're a Royals or O's fans, they have some offensive pop and you'll get to see a 9-7 type loss instead of 2-0 every night for the Pads.

Ackley was the #2 pick in the draft he has 3 homers in 73AB's which is a decent pace

Once the book on him is written, (i.e., scouts get a feel for him) he will hit 12 homers per season (650 ab).

I know he was the #2 pick in the draft, but without a metal bat and vs. MLB pitching, he is a POS.
