Yes, my Father knows and he always asks me if I have a "bet" on a game that we are watching together. He doesn't like it one bit.

Please. My father was a book maker.
That second Steeler/Cowboy Superbowl made my family. We gave out 4 1/2.

my parents don't know. But if I told them how much money I have made off betting, they might be less angry. But they wouldn't want me to gamble anymore...they are pretty old-fashioned.

Both of my parents are deceased. I'm sure they know and are not happy, though my dad did like going to Laughlin/Vegas,

Yes Dad does. He used to book as i grew up and me and my younger brother both bet although he don't on Baseball just College sports and NFL. I guess the road was sort of paved for me i was fuked from the beginning.
He once told me we might have to wear some ski masks and go to Tennessee take some guy out with some ball bats when i was 13 yrs old. I was scared jj.

As a little kid I would play blackjack with my dad for pennies nickels dimes. He would never keep what he won from me though. As I got older he taught me all the poker games. In high school my friends would come over to my house to play poker with me and my dad Nd his friends... This money was for keeps. To this day we both still gamble.
Mom hates it and doesn't really know too much about it.

My brother knows. Not my parents though. Even though I do alright they would be very upset. They are against all forms of gambling.

My father was a gambler who introduced me to Hollywood Park at the tender age of 13. He has passed one to the other side of life after losing a un win able battle with diabetes. My mother disapproves of anything related to gambling because of the scars created by daddies dream of beating the ponies. She would not approve of any gambling related activity I'm involved in. She doesn't ask, I don't tell. {Same story with the women in my life**. I'm sure she knows I play around, still I'm generous to her and dropped several dimes in her lap to ease that past pain. Its part of the reason I maintain a controlled gambling structure in my life. A % of my income is for this hobby, no more. All my close friends know.

JJ,
First off SBR should have the 20 questions as part of the registration process. Lol. That may give you an idea of the percentage who have crossed the line here, but I'm sure most would lie. Secondly, if you are a compulsive gambler then there is no way to win in the long run. Nobody can make those changes needed to live a better life for you! (Last but not least, It most likely shortens the lifespan of your parents if they know)
