We are thrilled to announce that Doug Stanhope has agreed to do an hour set at the Saturday Evening Banquet. Be advised, he isn't for the faint of heart but we think he's a great fit for our "demographic".

#9SBR's company policy has always focused on quality in all aspects, from the top down. As previously discussed, this Bash is to reward and also to thank our loyal Posters. We've put plenty of thought and effort (may thanks to JenBird for her invaluable assistance) into making this a first-rate event and expect that everyone who attends will have a memorable time.Comment -

#14Originally posted by Mr. Dsorry, boss, his people ended negotiations when they discovered the Golden Nugget didn't have any 8-track players in their AV department for him to borrow. the real deal-breaker was our failure to provide his glaucoma medication.
You know what would be a great act, well, pretty cool. Maybe for next year. How about a solo act with Rush's drummer? They were just at Mandalay Bay. He does a long solo in their shows and its amazing. Or get Neil!!Comment -

Artie must be a REALLY bad gambler, he quoted us an insane price that could only have been a.) heroin induced, or b.) a shot at getting "un-barreled-in".Comment -

That's cool that you at least inquired about it. I wonder if he'd have plugged it on the air on Stern's show.Comment -

#30we actually approached 6 or so pretty heavy-hitters and got quotes. Doug wasn't the least expensive but he seemed like the best fit. Artie apparently thinks that Artie is the funniest guy on the planetComment -

#34Rickles is great, another is George Carlin although his last few gigs on HBO have been missing something. I think Stanhope sounds like the right choice, I don't think his ego or demands are in the same ballpark as some of the aforementioned guys. And his stuff is funny.Comment -
