Laptop just made a loud noise I've never heard before..

Can anyone here relate or know what happened?

I was moving the laptop from the front room to my bedroom and when I set it down it started making an EXTREMELY loud noise inside it.. It sounding like something spinning inside..

Whats going on?

Yes, there are two spinning piece in a pc. Fans and HD.

I have heard HD's make some noises before. Were whore shit though.

I'll go with a fan. My Dell crapped out after fan noise. If the fan breaks or gets clogged with dust they can overheat.

Loud grinding noise is exactly what happened to one of my old pc's when the HDD bit the dust.

I doubt it is the HD, I don't think laptop HD's are as big or spin as much as PC hard drives.

They spin just as much, but are smaller. My hard drive is a 7200rpm. Most are 5400rpm's.

Loud noice from inside is definitely a fart. Laptops are notorious farters whereas desktops are better known for their belching abilities.

It depends, but unusual noises from the hard drive usually means it will fail soon.

Back up your data and get a new hard drive, they are cheap and easily replaced.
