    US players can always bet
Worst case scenario: US law makes it illegal for a US citizen to bet online(which they will never do) OR laws force all online books out of the US market.

You could illegally use a VPN

You could perfectly legally set up a deal with a Canadian where you give them all of your plays and they pay you 99% of "their" winnings in exchange for your excellent handicapping expertise.

^well I'd prefer to be legal(local is illegal in case you didn't know). And I'd get pinnacle lines and never be banned and would be certain I'd get paid(all things which a local cannot provide).

I know it's illegal in the USA to call or email someone in Vegas and tell them what sports bets you want them to make but what about this...

          1. You find someone in Vegas who agrees to use your money to bet on sports and you give them money to do it. (Legal activity)

          2. You start a thread on a forum like this posting your daily picks. (Legal activity)

          3. Your Vegas contact reads your daily picks thread and makes bets on those plays. (Legal activity)

          4. Your Vegas contact reports and pays taxes on the profits and simply gives you gifts regularly. (Legal activity)

Would this be illegal in the USA?

The way things are headed I doubt many 'safe' places will remain.

If they USJD is serious and determined to outlaw online gambling for America Citizens then they will do just that.

The US is losing a ton of money on taxes each year and they are finally realizing they need to do something about it.

Too risky for US players to gamble with offshore right now..who knows which books are actually working undercover with the FBI to collect names and evidence of gamblers breaking US law.

Did you see how the CIA collected DNA from Bin Laden's family members in Pakistan? They set up a free vaccine shop next to his compound and they collected DNA.

It is NOT illegal to place a wager online. It is supposedly illegal(but I think offshore books could win in court) to offer online gambling to the US.
Banks are supposed to block gambling transactions(but it's impossible to know)

As a US player you are doing nothing wrong in wagering online...either on sports or poker. The only thing illegal is not paying your taxes on winnings. Besides that player is not doing anything wrong with depositing, wagering and withdrawing in a sportsbook or poker site.

But as a Bank, you are not supposed to process gambling transactions.

As a Book, you are not supposed to take funds using US banks.

                            Thats it.

If books use just west union and mooney gram from players (like greek), they are not doing anything illegal.

As a player you are doing nothing wrong in wagering online.

Pavy, i thought being a forum veteran, you would know better than this.
