Used to work here with kids as a gym teacher when I was in college as a summer job a couple years ago......I was down by the beach so it wasn't that dangerous really at all, but the kids were mostly from the real bad parts of Asbury Park.....It was really sad that kids from 4th-8th grade knew so much shit about the streets and crime life. Kids talking about all the different gangs that run their apartment complexes, where the drug dealers hang out, crack heads that roam the streets they live on etc......Really cool, athletic, and funny kids.... but seeing some of the parents that would come in to pick them up, its was easy to see that a lot of these kids have no chance. Very sad.

Asbury Park is a littttle better now, as a few streets down by the beach have some cool restaurants and bars and shops. However, if you go away from the beach and west of main street, well....lets just say you don't want to be there....ever

My step dad lived outside youngstown, OH
He bought his house almost 40 years ago for $12k
When he finally moved 5 years ago he could sell his house at all
he had it listed for 12 then 10 the 5 it was
on market for almost 3 years he finally donated it to a charity.
