    Tiger is OUT

Tiger will miss the rest of the season

    Published: June 18, 2008

(AP) — Tiger Woods will miss the rest of the season because of a left knee that will require more surgery, a person with knowledge of the decision said Wednesday.

Woods had surgery to clean out cartilage April 15, but later suffered a stress fracture while preparing for his return to golf. That's what caused his pain during the U.S. Open, which he won in a 19-hole playoff Monday over Rocco Mediate.
I'm not a big fan of El Tigre, but that's BALLS.

He will never pass Nicklaus. He was stupid enough to ruin his career just to win the US open against doctors orders.

He's 32 years old. He could take a decade off and pass him.

              Pavy,
I will take ALL the action on that you care to give. He will pass Jack with room to spare. He's 32. He can win majors for the next 8-10 years. You don't think he'll get five more over that period, even if he takes the entire year off??? I sure as heck do!!!

A huge blow for the sport. I guess he's targeting the 2009 Masters for a comeback.

ACL tear, double stress fracture, just had the knee scoped. WTF is this guy made of? Having played for 20 years I couldn't imagine playing one full round let alone 4 with any of those injuries. He's my new hero.

Golf is done now, Tiger is the whole entire tour, no one will even watch majors this year without him in it. Also if you win there will be ******* next to their names.

I respectfully disagree, McBa1n. No doubt that for advertisers, they've lost a lot of potential viewers. But in terms of tournament action, his absence should open things up and make the outcomes far less predictable. It would be like if you went back in time and banned the New York Yankees from playing the 1949-53 seasons.

Tiger is one of most popular sports figures of all times, he will become the richest and most powerful black man of all times too. No one can replace that. He has 100x the popularity and power of a Michael Jordan

I hope he comes back Willie. The severity of the injury and rehab will be known after he comes back and also the ability to bring his game to a level he is comfortable with is questionable.

Some people do not understand that all he did 10 weeks was just an arthroscopic knee surgery which is common and very minor if allowed time to heal.

He has blown out his knee with multiple damage in ligaments, joints and bones so I'll let the doctors fix him before I state with comfidence he will surpass Nicklaus.

That may be the most ridiculous statement I have ever read. Football running backs tear up knees all the time. Get surgery and come back many times better than ever. How about Willis McGahee?? He had the "terrible triad" of knee injuries. A year later he's playing RB in the NFL. You don't think playing RB in the NFL is harder than playing on the PGA TOUR???

Doctors told him to rest 3 weeks and stay 3 weeks on crutches before rehabing. Guess what the dumbass, did?

But lost the chance to win any of the next 4 majors by blowing out his knee in the process. Not a smart move by the world's best player.

Next two majors...he'll be back in time for Augusta 2009. And there is no guarentee that he wouldn't have torn his knee up later in the year, anyway.
