be glad you didnt make it to the finals. That was a beating the Lakers took.

The good news is Boston is up there in years. A repeat would seem unlikely.

Ugly game for sure, if you completely took the refs out of the game Boston would win every game in that fashion even on the road.

Its safe to say Boston isn't as strong as they appeared. Lakes with Bynum would have won. Boston struggled with Atlanta, Cleveland, and Detroit. Without Bynum, Lakes worked twice as hard to get there, once they were there, they were out of juice.

            Unless Stern is ousted.

Bynum would not have helped much, I do not think they could really get away with playing both of the big guys together much, he would be a upgrade over Turiaf of course. But the Lakers could only score with their smaller lineups with a lot of outside shooting, BYnum, Gasol, and Odom on the front line gives Kobe no one to pass to

I said early in the season that the East would win the finals. The road to the finals in the West is ten times harder (don't confuse Boston's 7-games series against bad teams with a hard road in this sense). Lakers didn't have any juice left.

                    But aside from that...

Boston turned their playoffs around when Doc Rivers found the story of Muhammad Ali as inspiration for his team. The players all bought into that. They first showed it in the 4Q of game 6 against the Pistons, in Detroit. They turned the corner there and never looked back.

The Celtics developed resilience by overcoming obstacles, -more than they bargained for-, this postseason. Resilience (the Ali-factor!) won them the championship. They were the best motivated team in these finals. Nothing the Lakers threw at them could break their spirit. By comparison, the Lakers spirit was fragile.
