Please explain the Angels being outscored but playing .600 ball
I have the Angels to go under 92 regular season wins for 800+ big ones. Both aces started the season on the DL and they have one of the toughest schedules in interleague play, yet they are playing .600 ball and have been outscored on the season through 70+ games. I cannot have worse luck, can I?

That means the Angels should be closer to .500 than .600 if that is the case. You should NOT have the 2nd or 3rd best record in the majors by doing that.

Variance. But it does seem that a bullpen can makeup for offensive woes, ie Arizona last year.

Small ball should never get you more than 90 wins.

Same thing for the Seattle Mariners in 2007 as well. It's why I just laugh at people when they start throwing around the 'Pythagorean W-L' stat. All that does is simply spread runs out over X-games, and as we all know that's not how the game is really played. Some nights you're the windscreen and some nights you're the bug, to quote Mark Knopfler.

Are the Angels this good, or as good as their record dictates, or are they overachieving?
