The problem here is Jeter didn't compensate the fan with anything besides merchandise. Hell, he didn't even do anything. The Yankee organization gave that fan those suite tickets. Jeter didn't give a cent.

Jeter is an amazing player. The guy has a shot at 4000 hits and is almost a sure shot to get 3500. To bash him as a player is nuts. I used to think the guy was overrated about 10 years ago but I changed my tune around 2002. The guy is an amazing player and may finish with 1000 more hits than any other Yankee ever had. That is simply incredible.
