How did everyone who places bets with a bookie go about finding one. Someone told be sports bar but that didnt do much. How do you approach something like this. Thanks

go to your local casino. Where gambling is acceptable and casually ask around.

Ask around local bars or ask any shady people you may know. Surely you see someone with parlay card during football season or someone with a rotation book at a sportsbar from time to time.

You can find people who know bookies in your neighborhood bar. It doesn't have to be a sportsbar. Or maybe someone on the job.

You looking for a bookie or someone who is legit and reputable? Unless you live in a large city there is only gonna be 2 or 3 options and most sports enthusiasts are gonna know who they are.

Visit any car dealership (preferably in NJ if possible) and talk it up with the sales guys. At least one of them is likely barreled in big time from betting with a local bookie and can hook you up.

Poker games are usually a good place to start asking. Local sports bars or golf clubs are usually full of guys who make the occasional wager. Look for guys hanging on every play during junk time. They are usually sweating a cover or a total.
