    Anyone watch the Mariner Game?
In the 5th inning Maybin for San Diego walks on 3 balls. Nobody says a thing.
He scores and the Padres win 1-0.

Unbelievable that nobody caught the mistake.

The Mariner announcers are going crazy.

Maybe getting more than 2 hits in a game will boost your chances of winning. Are the announcers talking about that??? Granted three balls isn't the same as four but is that really why they lost??? Did he get a free pass to home plate instead of first base???

          Wow. Three balls? Really?

By the way, what do you do with an elephant with three balls?

A: Walk him and pitch to the rhino.

Amazing thing is that no one on the mariners called it out

How do the pitcher and catcher not realize this? Fister is a good pitcher....you mean to tell me he doesn't pitch based on counts?

SEATTLE -- San Diego's Cameron Maybin walked after just three balls were thrown by Seattle's Doug Fister and came around to score the only run of the game on Antonio Gonzalez's fifth-inning single, sending the Padres past the Mariners 1-0 on Saturday night.
With one out in the fifth, Maybin walked when a pitch was called high by home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi. A video review of the at-bat by official scorer Dan Peterson confirmed the count should have been 3-2 when Maybin walked.
No argument was made by anyone on the field and the stadium scoreboard showed a three-ball count before Fister (3-9) delivered the pitch.

                            Me and Fister got screwed.
Game should be in extra innings by now.
I fuking swear that I got screwed over twice today.

I took the Cubs: Garza doesn't get a called strike 3 to Pierre. Next pitch, Pierre gets an RBI single and breaks the No-No. Sox win 1-0.
I took the M's: Well, you know what happened.

LOL. I had the cubs too. My other play was the Jays +1.5 and they blew it in the 9th with 2 outs and two strikes.....

Tomorrow I am taking the Padres and White Sox. Sundays are killer for me, so watch me get buried.

it's hard for me not to think that players of both teams not just can't hit, but also not interested in the offense

Thats interesting that both the ump and outfield scoreboard made the same mistake in the count. There must have been some fouled off pitches. Would have liked to know the pitch count for the at-bat as well, shoddy journalism.

Lucky there's no scoreboards w/ balls and strikes on the west coast.

If I remember correctly, a couple week ago a batter should of walked on ball 4, but ump messed up the count and nobody noticed. Can't remember who it was. Seems umps are slacking this year.

I leaned towards Fister but felt that he usually doesn't get the run support.
It was a no play for me.
                                                  I'm still correct about that.

                                                  However, what horrendous luck.
Tough way to lose for Fister.
But the Mariner bats should still be the blame for the loss, not an honest mistake by the umpires.

the umpire did this on purpose, wake up. if they don't spark these offenses in some way they will be there 23 innings til somebody scores.

just goes to show you how disinterested everyone was in this game from the players, managers, score board operator, umps and crowd. priceless. The only interest in the game was the gamblers that had wagers pending on it.
