I've noticed that they will normally have the ML numbers out, but the totals always come out late. Why?

Cubs totals are heavily weighed upon the direction and speed of the wind.

That's why you see totals as high as 13, and as low as 6.5 @Wrigley.

So oddsmakers have to wait until the day of the game in order to receive a reliable weather report.

Great question. I just as soon stay away from late lines, but lately not even that has mattered.

Exactly. The wind off the lake can turn on a dime. Example, we were supposed to hit 100 degrees yesterday with stiff south winds (blowing out) and the temp/wind never got there because of the rain. These conditions are more prevalent during April/May games when the weather is alot more unstable and harder to predict.

.Exactly right on the money, Houlihans...as a Chicago Boy, I can tell you the wind in the windy city can change from one day to the next...if the wind is blowing out it can carry that ball and sometimes turn it into a wiffle ball. I've seen so many blown catches in the outfield.....

I understood the reason a year ago but I will say I have been burned 3 times this week on totals at Wrigley.
