Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzehge were great British Boxers. lennox Lewis was a great British boxer. A persons cultural can influence what sport interest them, but it's up to the individual to have the determination and discipline to become great. The UFC is flooded with Anericans because wrestling is very popular in high schools and the coligate level, that transfers over well into the UFC. just like Brazilians and jujitsu.

First of off , your thread is called England has no athletes. All 3 were born in England. Ricky Hatton was very good untill his last two fights. Im assuming that your argument would be that most black people in America cant swim as opposed to the fact that the majority dont grow up in neighbor hoods where swiming is readily available. Therefore, the the number of black swimmers in america is very small in comparison to the amount of blacks in america. That greatly reduces the odds of a prolific black swimmer. As for the NBA, i did grow up playing basketball. I grew up in Washington D.C and i played basketball all the time. The problem was, im 6'4" now and was one of the tallest kids o the court, so i always played a post position like center. I got to highschool and and was faced with other kids who played alot of basketball and there happened to be guys taller then me so i played power forward. In college, most centers are 6'9" and above and forwards are 6'6" and above. I have the body to play shooting guard, but i have no experience as a guard and even if i trained day in and day out, i wont be able to compete for a spot against other guys who have been playing guard there whole lives. Instead, iv won countless grappling tournaments and an MMA Championship in Colorado springs. Nobody in my family has any fight experience, it has nothing to do with my blood. Just my determination and effort.

You also like to ignore basic laws of nature which people like the one in your avatar value above comfortable feelings of "it was my determination and effort". Yes, determination and effort can separate those of approx equal genetics, but your genes are the limiting reagent if you will. Also, did your parents every try MMA? Then how can you know?

The russians use to test the DNA babies to see which ones had better fast twitch muscles, which ones could get really strong, which ones would be taller, and they found the ones that would be the best athletes and got them training at an early age. However, I dont think genetics have alot to do with your country of origin. 54 countries won Gold medals in the Beijing games. England has 50.5 million people, The U.S. has 308.75 million. England still took home the 4th most medals in the 2008 Olympics.

So could I but tall people are not as coordinated or athletic in general so kind of a stupid thing to say. I mean if Muggsy Bogues was 6'10 he would of scored 41 points a game in the league I guess

i ment to say that they werent created equal. But i dont think your blood line has alot to do with that. Everybody, regardless of being Black, white, Hispanic or Asian has a different DNA set. When i was in the Army, our best runner was a redneck white kid and he ran his 2 miles in just under 10 minutes.

My argument of if i was 6'10" was that there were days as a kid that i spent 6 hours a day playing basketball. I lived for basketball and was very good at it, but i never had the height to keep playing the positions that i knew very well. Muggsy Bogues didnt grow up playing the center position. he was able to use his heigh and speed as an advantage.

all due respect this is absolute p.c. bullshit......i`ll never be able to jump out of the gym or have fast twitch muscles like floyd mayweather or melvin guillard if i trained for 100 years...it`s no coincidence that the vast majority of great sprinters are of african extraction.....

there are physiological differences between the races....that is undeniable...
