I love the battle in 8 Mile and Juice (with Tupac Shakur and Omar Epps) is a real "street" movie and was somewhat entertaining. 8 mile is a little too "bubble gumish".


Boyz in the Hood is a Classic. This movie even kept my girlfriends interest. She thinks that Juice is a joke.

Ice Cube is brilliant in this movie. It leaves a lasting impression with you as you watch it. When I went to California in 2002 , I was on the freeway to see the eventual World Series Champs, the Anaheim Angels. I saw the exit for Compton and as a joke I got off the exit. My girlfriend thought about the Boyz in the Hood and she was yelling at me to get back on the freeway. I did. (I wouldn't have went to far into town-not worth the risk for a NY/NJ guy like me).

Boyz In the Hood is the best by far. (Cooley High was better than Juice) (8 Mile, I go back and forth on. Never had that nervous feeling watching it)

Poetic Justice was cool with Janet Jackson and Tupac. She wanted Pac to take an aids test but this movie is far from ghetto. I like when they barge in on "Cousin Pete's Famiy Picnic"

What about Baby Boy. Omar Gooding is a lot more convincing than his brother Cuba Gooding Jr.
