jurrjens is not as good as his ERA. Look for him to get rocked 2nd half. Good pitcher with really good command but never will be great. He doesn't have the stuff.

He's an excellent pitcher, but more in the Maddux mode of pitching to contact. Verlander is dominant this year.

If you start a team for the present day? You are absolutely insane... If you are starting a team to build for the future, you are still insane, but have more of an argument. Ill take king felix and 23 yr old clayton kershaw to start my team around for the future.
Yes he is having an amazing yr and is very impressive, but I will need to see more then 3 months of dominating performances before I even put him in the top ten, let alone #1
You got guys like the Doc out there who does it year in and year out... you take the guy who has pitched well for 3 months, ill take the guy who has been doing it for years and that can go 9 every night if needed.

He was being honest... that is the definition of a true fan.. great pitcher but doesnt have the stuff to be the best. Why is that under appreciating him?

He is very good, and will probably be an all star in his career. But there are many guys that are very good, but will still never be the best in baseball. At this stage, I would be willing to argue that there at least 5 guys in the NL and 5 guys in the AL that teams would take over Jurrgens.
NL:
Lincecum
Cain
Kershaw
Wainwright (when healthy)
Halladay
Lee
Hamels
Johnson (when healthy)
AL:
Weaver
Lester
Verlander
Price
Sabathia
Felix
Cahill
There are probably others, but these are the obvious that stick out.
