How many infractions does it take to get banned?

depends on the seriousness and your relationship with the mods. if you do something really bad, one infraction can get you banned.

From my experience, if you use the words dumbass and moron in the same paragraph you get an infraction according to Illusion's Dictionary (currently #1 in sales in the US. Webster's is distant second).
