Questions about Pinnacle for old-time USA players
Was there ever a time when Pinnacle took USA players? And what made this book become the largest and most successful book even without taking US action? (I'm sure top elite US players have agents in EU running for them) Just curious, in for some late night gambling discussion In my opinion, top 3 offshore books in the world:
    1. Pinnacle
    2. Grande
    3. Heritage

yes at one time Pinny took US clients, then the IEGA or whatever the dumb fkn law is called when into effect, Pinny chose to comply with US laws and left that market

Really? So they were taking US until '06 when unlawful gambling act was passed? Missed them by 1 year haha. What made them so successful though? Like I look at their webpage and I go wow this is a solid legitimate corporation. I look at 5-dimes webpage and I'm afraid the damn thing could crash/collapse at any second (very cheap software and very cheaply constructed, and that's just the feeling I get from just looking at their site). In fact, Bodog has a nice site too but Pinnacle's is unrivaled. Amazing my father told me they take like up to either $100,000 or $1,000,000 on a straight bet (presumably for NFL, I may be wrong about amount though not sure cant really remember). Thanks for taking the time to comment back though buddy appreciate the info, just trying to learn as much as I can about as many things as I can

I was playing locally until 2006, had a great local where I was but moved and then went offshore/online so I never actually played at Pinny. I have a friend up in SK that will put in a play if I ask him too, but I don't do it that often, just for futures and shit where the odds are far better. The reason they're number 1 is because they have the best prices, limits are high, and they pay fast, to sum it up.

True, I haven't learned how to track lines yet so I don't know all the details but what you're saying sounds about right I'm just wondering how they got to be so large and successful from the start (they couldn't have opened up the business with the best lines out there, or did they and take the hit for profit for the first few years because they knew they would become so large they'd make it all back and so much more?) Sorry if I'm getting annoying, you don't have to reply I'm just curious for some info

They were successful because they catered to everyone. Low juice, high limits, offered lines on pretty much everything, and they paid instantly. They even catered to the broke betters as I had a buddy who played there and was making bets for as little as $1. Many books at the time had higher minimums. It was a sad sad time when we lost Neteller and Pinnacle.

I was around for the loss of Netteller (right when I was just about to start gambling, thank god had no money in there place prob almost went bankrupt when they lost US ) I was never around for Pinnacle though, and that kinda sucks even though I'm not that large of a bettor I would have absolutely loved playing at that book. Now were stuck with sh*tty 5dimes, Bkmaker, Bdog, etc.. Not that those are bad books, but I've heard soo many bad stories about owners like Tony and others. I know the guy who started and used to run Dsi back when it was Diamond and he is the furthest thing from another Tony. Times have changed for the worse.
