Restaurant, bar, barber shop, waiter, waitress, whatever. Do you tip?

The question is more on the principle of tipping, not so much on whether or not you tip in certain situations (ie. good vs. bad service).

I only tip when I am being served for example: I am at a table and the waiter takes my order and brings my food, brings me water.

But if are working at mcdonlads, hell no I will not tip you. Its funny how they have those tips jars.

I believe they only make a couple of dollars an hour. Bad service to me is just not caring, depends how busy they are but under no circumstance (unless they argue with me or tell me to go fukc myself) would I stiff them.

Waitresses minimum wage is just over two bucks an hour....sure that's not your problem but if you don't have compassion for someone who basically works a miserable job then yes, you're a scumbag.

If the service is bad .. they get a dollar (enough to let them know that I did not "just forget" .. I actually was aware enough to leave a tip .. and thought that your effort was worth this amount)

Generally I start @ 25% for excellent service and work my way down by 5% each time they piss me off, let my glass get empty, don't check on me shortly after I've started eating, offer me a "to-go" drink, look like they are struggling to raise a smile .. etc etc ..

hair cut = $5 (costs $15 just give $20)
hooker = 20% + cab fare
garbage = gift at x mas
mail = same as garbage
newspaper = same as garbage/mail
pizza = $4 or so (usually around $15 and change, give $20)

that's about all I can think of off the top of my head, pretty standard IMO

Anyone who doesn't tip in a restaurant is a jerkoff. They deserve whatever disgusting thing those servers are doing to their lasagna in the kitchen.

I personally tip all service related industries (haircut, UPS, garbage, etc...)

Also, all code compliance officers....and numerous elected officials (this mainly on a "as needed" basis.)

Barber = 25% or so (Costs $13, give $16)
Racetrack = Always leave all singles and change. Above that, approximately $20 per $1,000.
Pizza = $3 or $4 for the typical $20ish order.
