because of BOT's situation, it reminded me of flipping the channels about a week or so ago during a ball game. there was this show on one of my local channels called "Street Patrol", it was kinda like "Cops". They were in NJ, i don't know what city, but they had a cop dressed like a hood rat and he was leaning up against the wall on a sidewalk, and about 50 feet down the curb was a van with the camera crew and 2 officers. they(the cops) said this was a high trafficking dope area, the undercover would start talking to the people as they walked by and ask what they're looking for or maybe someone would ask him if he was holding , they would start talking and he would walk down the sidewalk towards the van and the officers would jump out and arrest the person for, get this, "attempting to purchase narcotics".
there was some people that had bags of grocery's in their hands and the cops would be like "what you doing down here?" and the person would say "i just came from the store", the cops would just go "yeah, yeah, yeah, you're trying to buy drugs, you're going with us."
here's what i don't get. the undercover ain't got drugs, the people ain't got drugs, no money has been exchanged, they are being arrested for "the attempt to purchase drugs". WHAT KIND OF BULLCRAP CHARGE IS THAT?
the cops bait the person and then arrest them. there was one dude walking by and the undercover was talking to him about what he was looking for, and the dude was just like i don't know, why what you got, his whole demeanor was kinda like he wasn't really looking for drugs but out of curiosity he was curious what the dude(the undercover) had to offer.
I have never heard of such bullshit in my life.
