Tough to tell considering we've only see him play 11 games.
I think he'll end up being a Derrick Rose type. Cleveland should be able to build a franchise around him

yeah i was gonna say kwame brown by a mile.
kyrie irving is good just very unproven and as far as him being like derrick rose- i dont think hes strong enough. hopefully he can stay healthy so we can get a look at him...mosta his highlight videos are him against highschool kids.

I wouldn't go that far, he is going to be a great player his value is high. In any draft he would be a top pick to act like he is such a terrible is wrong. He has a nice smooth jump shoot, a pure point guard. I think it has a lot to do with him being injured and no one being able to watch him.
I still like Derek Williams too, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Irving being an all star in yearss to come . And scoring 18-25 point range his rookie year.

Touché. Kwame wins.
And actually ive seen irving and Chris Paul play in college and was more impressed with Irving. Kids lightning and has skills.

With picks 1 and 4, and plenty of guards in the draft, knowing you need a forward or a center.. Why not pick derek williams as ur first pick and then pick a guard with ur 4th...

Hes not as fast or athletic as rose , but he has a much better jump shot. And he is a pure point guard, he knows when to shoot, hes not a westbrook type point guard(not that's a bad thing)

Obviously they believe Irving is in a class all to himself in the guards

I think taking Derek Williams as #1, and then taking Kemba or Jimmer at 4, would suit them better as they will have GO TO GUY. They have no potential player that can take over a game.. they need one real bad.. With those 2 picks you have potentially 2...

Foreign players dominating top part of the draft. Like the Wiz and Bobcats pick... And of course the T-Wolves taking the homie Derrick Williams from 'Zona....

the mistake was not the cavs giving irving a chance, it was not taking williams 1. there are plety of point guards in the league and in the draft. huge mistake. lebrons probably laughing at them.
williams does everything. and well.

I guess some people are happy they are not draft pick 1. Who wants to play for Cleveland they aint going no where next season. Also Kyle doesn't have enough stats to prove he is really number 1. Kemba Walker on the other hand does and is the better guard. I also feel that Nolan Smith was better then him and should of been top 10.

You get the feeling a lot of teams draft a guy just because they have to pick somebody. When the draft dorks are comparing top 10 picks to being a Kirelenko type of player you know they are screwed.
