Are the Lakers following the same fate as the Pats
It seems like deja vu all over again. Going into the Finals the Laker were (10-4) ATS in the playoffs. They have now dropped 3 straight games against the spread.

The Patriot started the season by going (10-3) ATS going into week 13, before dropping their last 6 straight games against the spread including 3 in the playoffs.

Both teams started hot, and are most popular by the vast public. I think the Lakers will share the same fate as the Patriots. I don't think Vegas will not make enough adjustment on the line to make it favorable for the Lakers to cover. I think it's Laker fading time.

Interesting comparison but no I don't really think so.

You could make the argument that the Celtics are more like the Pats having had a phenomenal regular season, and some of the same expectations as for breezing through to win it all.

Though the Lakers were the sharper team in the playoffs, which is Pats like other than that forgettable SB performance. I think both teams resemble them in some ways, but ultimately the Celtics were the best team all year so the Lakers could IMO lose out and still not be flamed for a comparable chokejob..

apples and oranges argument. the pats were destroying teams by 30 pts in a league that thrives on parity. unseen in the nfl, the kind of dominance the pats had. first team in 35 yrs to finish a reg season undefeated. the other was miami in '72.

the lakers won 57 games in the reg season, which is no big accomplishment in the NBA because so many teams each season can win 50+ gms. then they went 12-3 in the playoffs before meeting boston, this too was impressive but nothing special, we have seen it many times before.

your comparison is two totally different things

never mind, i did not read your whole post. i see that you are relating the comparing to ATS, not dominance over their league, just disregard my post, my bad

Except the Lakers weren't undefeated going into the finals like the Patriots.

I was merely pointing it out, never bet the Pats all season, tried going against them all the way, including the Superbowl, where I finally cashed.

Big difference, Lakers BARELY made 1st seed, and still didnt have the best record. And they werent dynamite until they got Gasol halfway through the season. So they are LUCKY THEY even made it this far.

pats were a better team the giants even though they lost that one game

                      Celtics are the better team
