She sucks. Her defensive rating is 12 points worse than the team average. NY's OEF/DEF differential is -7 (meaning they are a below average team). Pierson's is -17, meaning she is pretty bad for a starter.

If she doesn't come back in the first half, look to play NY for the second half. If the game is tied, take NY +3.5 or +4, regardless of her status, for the second half.

I thought NY was the right side. In my world of bad lines, Pick'em would be a better line than +7 or +7.5. The WNBA market is inefficient. The closing line in this sport is often crap. NY is right for the game, and *if* you accept this, taking NY+5 for h2 is better than +7.5 for the game.

If that player were injured, I think a backup would do at least as well. If the oddsmakers adjusted for the injury of a starter, I think they would add value to a NY bet.
