If Gnobli was healthy I think Spurs are clearly the best in the west and give boston a better run for their money

The West is much deeper, so I wouldn't say conference is overrated. The thing is very little seperates the TOP teams from each conference this year.

west deeper but when new orleans goes from no playoffs one yr to 2nd seed the next yr, you know it is weak, plus spurs had injury problems during the reg season and no bench yet still won 56 games, 2nd to lakers 57 wins and tied with new orleans, this was all amongst the reasons i took the celtics at +180 to beat the lakers prior to the series starting

Send any of the other east teams besides Boston and Detriot to the west and they'll be no higher than a 6th seed. Your east seventh and eighth seed Philly and ATL, will still have less winnings than our ninth and tenth seeded team Goldenstate and Portland.

West is clearly better and keep in mind they play a much harder schedule throughout the season so don't have as much left by the playoffs but Boston is clearly an elite team, it isnt by chance you get a roster like that

west is so much more finesse. dominant teams from the west that have won titles since jordan retired have something in common, they were strong on defense and had great inside players. lakers with shaq in the early 2000s and spurs with duncan 4 times since '99. these two teams were very strong defensively (lakers were very underrated on d) and the spurs were obviously very strong on d. outside of these two teams, no one in the west was really ever that dominant. hence detroit, with excellent d, won in 04 by beating aging lakers and then miami, with dwade on fire and great d, beat the heart-less mavs.
styles make a series go, and the east teams really bring it on d which gives west teams a problem, unless those west teams have shaq or duncan. being good and winning a ton of regular season games like denver, houston, and golden state do, means nothing if you can't get it done in the playoffs. golden st had great upset of mavs, but what have denver and houston done lately? answer, nothing.
please don't even bring those weak ass teams into the discussion. the western conf this yr had no real dominant team, that is a fact jack
