rape is worse than taking someone's life? wow. they are both horrific crimes, but someone being raped and continuing to live (with hopefully no injuries or just minor injuries that heal, and pyschological issues which hopefully can be treated with counseling) sounds less serious than TAKING SOMEONE'S LIFE.

Well, I do know that women relax certain muscles when they are expecting it. When they are fighting it, those muscles tense up. The death sentence doesn't stop murderers from murdering...so I don't see why this would be any different. Unfortunately, it's a lot harder to prove/disprove rape than murder. But I do agree that cewrtain repeat sexual offenders should face the death penalty. ESPECIALLY, child molesters.

I don't remember all the details but yeah that would prove for a tricky criminal case, especially because of the overwhelming evidence of her character (2 mens DNA on her underwear from that same day..? wow), the attempted suicide thing etc.

All in all, if Kobe was not an NBA superstar and some guy working at Burger King then sadly her case is more valid because wanting a million dollar+ payday isn't a factor then.

I have horrific images permenantly etched in my brain. He got 5 years of probation and had to stay away from me during that time. Now, nothing is to stop him from walking up to me and striking up a conversation...and that scares the shit out of me.

Well thank you. It wasn't quite as bad as you probably think, but the circumstances were pretty effed up. Rest assured, I'm not 13 anymore if I ever see him again, I won't hesitate to beat the shit out of him with whatever weapon is available to me. He deserves it. I'll take the attempted murder charge and claim PTSD or something. The worst part of the legal proceedings were having to sit there while the scumbag claimed I was making everything up because my parents had split up recently. In RI you can look at anyone's criminal records for free. I searched for him once and it made me sick to my stomach to see how many times he tried to have the case dismissed. My lawyer and parents spared me all of those details due to my age. I had no idea how hard he tried to prove an innocent child a liar.
