I think cuse is right...was going way to fast to make the exit...slams breaks when he realizes his exit is up and then skids into rail and into forest

Lets eliminate him trying to get off the exit theory. If he was driving over 100 mph how on earth would he have been able to negotiate that turn on the exit even if he made it? No way in heck.

Well for one he was probably drunk and you don't know for sure how fast he was going at impact.

I've done this one before...if ur going drunk and fast u sometimes forget ur exit is coming up and then when u realize u slam breaks and try to make turn....especially in a high performance vehicle and drunk u think u can make any turn....luckily for me I didn't fly into the rail and woods and die. But then again, I probably wasn't as drunk.

I'm not a car guy, but could someone going 50mph make the turn in the exit?

And it doesn't matter if he couldn't make the exit, obviously he couldn't but he may have thought he could.

                          Interesting little tidbit here.

I have had my car up to 135-145 mph, 110 is common place. After this story, especially after learning his car flew 40 yards afterwards....not going to go over 95mph ever again. This guy saved my life.

When I was in high school I had a sporty little car and would drive 114mph with a car full of friends to the mall. Thank, God for the speed governor. My dad had my uncles BMW M-Coupe up to 155 on a Delaware highway a few years back. Scary to think a rabbit running out would have killed us. I don't go over 85 now, ever.

You have to have compassion. The man died a brutal death, before his time, and left friends and family behind. JJ: would you want someone to make a comment about you if you were Dunn? I highly doubt it. The man made his bed and he paid for it. He doesn't need people crapping on his memory

The car next to him would have done neither because the reaction to Dunn crashing, the tire marks from braking would be near the overpass by the time the second driver even noticed Dunn crashed. Also, when cars brake, even though they have 4 tires, there are only two sets of tire marks not four. Just a thought.

This is my theory, simple but here we go. First ignore the 4 other tracks. If you look at look at the 3 tracks from the Porsche, there are only three. which means he was trying to steer quite hard while braking. I think he was planning on taking the exit and realized(too late) that he was going too fast. He then applied full brakes making the two dark marks with the front tires. The third, thinner mark, was made by the right rear tire. The line is not as thick due to the camber of the wheel. The left rear tire had the least amount of load so there was not a mark.
