Spent the entire day hanging out with my 3 year old daughter. Swimming, took her to see the Jim Carrey fukkin' penguin movie (totally sucked, by the way), played a ton of mind numbingly boring games with her, and even made S'mores tonite. Forced myself to not turn on any sports the entire day. Totally exhausted her.... and myself.

I was finally watching a little SportsCenter to catch up, and after a few minutes she stumbled into the gameroom to say goodnite. She gave me a hug and a kiss, and said "I love you, Daddy. Today was the best day of my whole life."

Wow!

I'm in big trouble here, fellas. This girl has got me whipped.....BAD.

Married for 13 years. We've had our issues (and still do) like every couple has. Marriage is a tough gig! We waited a long time to have kids. I think this probably really helped our marriage. We were both finally grown-up enough that its pretty much all about the kiddo now. She's a great mom. I have no doubt we're probably spoiling the kid too much, but we're boring and old now, so we basically revolve our lives around hers. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Sounds like a great day! I drove to a little hick town in NWest GA to take my 4 and 2yo geocashing (looking for treasure as my kids call it) exploring a cave and playing in the springs there. We had a great time and no sports.

right there with ya OP! went to the zoo yesterday with my wife and 2 year old daughter and then went and ate the most god awful pizza at the place where the rat is a mascot. then went and sat in a cold ass kiddie pool with her the rest of the day. but you know what, i wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING in the world

Thanks for being a great father, Opie. Not many like you out there still. Yesterday I spent the entire day with my father, we golfed. Had a great day, as I get older and busier its harder to spend quality time like that with my father. Growing up he was always there for me and from age 7-15 he was no doubt my best friend in life. We spent quite a bit of time together because traveling for hockey he was always by my side and never missed a single game or practice.
